The Proposal

Paula, Anthony, and Arwen were heading to SFO for a week of adventures in Oregon. They were planning to head to the coast of Oregon on the first day of their trip since they would arrive in Portland at 9am. From Portland, Anthony, Paula and Arwen drove 4.5 hours to the coast of Oregon, stopping in towns like, Beaverton, along the way so Arwen could play in dog parks. The first stop on the coast was a hike in Ecola State Park. From Ecola State Park, they headed down to the town of Cannon Beach, and perused and did window shopping along the way. Paula was so tired since she only got 3 hours of sleep since she stayed up packing so she took a nap in the car before they headed to their final destination for the afternoon: Haystack Rock. Anthony had been speaking about going to Haystack Rock for weeks.

Around 3:15pm Paula, Anthony, and Arwen headed down to the beach, and sat on the sand for a bit before heading towards Haystack Rock.

As the three of them were heading towards the rock, Anthony, stopped to ask strangers on the beach to take their photo. Paula helped flag a young man with glasses walking solo versus another family walking on the beach. Anthony gave him a few instructions to capture the view of the rock and had him record a video and snap photos in record mode. Paula didn’t hear any of that since she was too busy trying to fix her windblown hair and making herself look presentable since she was wearing glasses, sweats and no makeup.

While Paula was posing, Anthony suddenly got down on one knee and proposed!

It was a true surprise proposal!
